After a month in New York, I headed to the Farmers Market, laser-focused on grabbing tomatoes. I missed the produce we are fortunate to have in California. A couple of years ago, Torch Tomatoes debuted. Oblong, sweet, tomatoey orbs that come in several varietals. My fav is the Bronze Torch. I spent the first week back making tomato-based recipes, knowing summer and tomato season would soon be coming to an end. So before it does, head to your local farmers market and pick up tomatoes and make any or ALL of these recipes. Guaranteed to hold you over to next season.
The Tomato Greatest Hits List
Invariably, these are the tomato recipes on repeat.
An Easy “Egg”cellent Dish (Stir-Fried Tomato and Eggs): Classic Cantonese homestyle dish, Tomato and Eggs, the epitome of comfort food.

Cold Noodles with Tomatoes (Tomato Triple Play): As soon as the weather heats up, you’ll find me enjoying a bowl of tomatoes in a simple icy broth.

Summer Garden Pasta, Tomatoes Everywhere, Except My Garden: How easy is that? Ina’s moniker describes this yummy tomato pasta dish.

Fresh Tomato & Sausage Pasta-When Comfort Food is Required: Dry-farmed tomatoes are perfect for this quick & delicious pasta!
The Bucket List Continues

1-2-3-Four Tomato Pasta: A recent addition to the tomato hit list. Calabrian Chilis add a little kick, anchovies add umami, and the tomatoes do their thing! Adapted from Coco Larkin Cooks, it’s a keeper.

A Zinger of an Appetizer: Charred Tomatoes and Cold Yogurt: I have lost count of how many times I have made this Ottolenghi recipe. Always a hit.
