I have an addiction to cookbooks. I started collecting them way back in the day. My first cookbook was The New American Cuisine circa 1980, 35 dollars, which was unheard of then. I can remember the salesperson looking at the price and then at me and asking, are you sure you want to buy this book?
Flash forward 30 years, my collection has grown to hundreds of books, filling shelves in every room, the kitchen, our bedroom (only desserts books here of course), every nook and cranny. As if this wasn’t enough, I stalk food blogs, websites, and magazines, my addiction has no boundaries. Hundreds of cookbooks, thousands of recipes..I am on a mission to cook & bake and chronicle my way through my collection and I will put them in my blog so you can try them if you like.
Holiday Cookbook Showcase 🎄
We have created a Cookbook Christmas tree instead of an actual tree for the past few Christmases. Our first try, which we were happy with, weighed in at 5 feet and 300 or so books. This year was a doozy! Approximately 650 books were stacked to create this 7-foot tree! 70% of my cookbook collection spent the holidays as our tree. Next year, I will remember to hold back my favorite holiday cookbooks or at least put them near the top.
