Deep Run Roots

If you watched A Chef’s Life on PBS you are familiar with Vivian Howard.  This is her cookbook, Deep Run Roots, an homage to southern cooking.  It’s a beautiful book filled with stories and photos from her home.  The recipes are organized by ingredients and run the gamut from simple to elegant.  My personal favorite, Blueberry Cobbler with a Cornmeal Sugar Cookie Crust– buttery, tender, filled with a lemon-scented blueberry compote, it is downright delicious.  The Kindle version is a Deal right now.
