A Taste of the Asian American Experience

Roy Choi’s L.A. Son: My Life, My City, My Food is both a memoir and recipe book. The godfather of fusion food and food trucks, his Kogi Truck put LA on the map during the food truck revolution.  His book is unapologetic, gritty, real.  You read his evolution as a person and as a chef in both his memoir and in the recipes in the book.  If you watched the movie Chef, he ran the food scenes and trained Jon Favreau.  The food scenes are wonderful as is the movie.  Now I am going to make his Ketchup Fried Rice, really.  Delicious and easy, takes me back to my childhood.
